The Wish List: A reference for gift-givers
I already have most of the things I need or want. Thus, instead of a list of Things To Buy, this list explains the type of gift I might enjoy. If, you know, you insist on being generous.
1. I like things that have a practical use.
"Practical use" implies relevant to my life
DO NOT:
- flowers (allergies)
- anything designed to sit on a table (don't own tables)
- clothes (unless you know me very well. Exceptions made for particularly cool shirts, which I can remodel to fit if needed.)
- kitsch
DO:
- books
- supplies*
- lessons*
- music
- socks
* related to articles in Appendix 1
2. I am currently obsessed with being environmentally friendly.
KEY TERMS TO CONSIDER
- organic
- natural materials
- recycled
- carbon neutral
- fair trade
- low packaging
- locally produced
3. You don't really HAVE to buy me a gift, you know
Make a charitable donation and tell me about it. Or buy yourself something cool, that works too.
